Flower Show
A Standard Flower Show is presented by the Oshkosh Garden Club every two to three years. The purpose of a Flower Show is to educate club members and the viewing public and to generate interest in horticulture and floral design. The Flower Show gives club members a unique opportunity to express themselves creatively using fresh flowers and other plant materials.
A “Standard” Flower Show is one that conforms to the extensive written guidelines of National Garden Clubs, Inc. A Standard Flower Show must include a Floral Design Division and a Horticulture Division. It must be judged by National Council approved judges using a standard award system. A flower show “schedule” prepared by the club details the rules for entries in the show and establishes the flower show theme.
The Oshkosh Garden Club presented the Standard Flower Show, "Puttin' on the Ritz," on Saturday, June 4, 2011. The show took place at the Grand Opera House, 100 High Ave., Oshkosh from 5 to 9 PM during the June Gallery Walk. Entry was open to all members of the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation. The gallery on this page features photos from the event.
